Shania Not Losing Sleep Over UP! Once before we it was reported that Shania Twain is not worried that sales of UP! haven't roared into the ozone. With just under 4 million albums sold it looks anemic when compared to her duo of 10 million selling second and third albums. She told a recent hook-up with newspaper reporters that she's not worried since sales of UP! continue to out-pace her Diamond certified Come On Over and The Woman In Me at the same juncture. The Tennessean checked and found out she's right. At the 8 month mark The Woman In Me had moved 1.5 million units, while Come On Over had sold 3.9 million.

"Forever And For Always" Goes Pop. Shania's latest single "Forever And For Always" continues to climb the charts! According to Radio & Records, the hit single goes to pop/top 40 radio August 4th.

Super Audio Version Of UP! From Mercury Nashville: Shania is releasing her latest album UP! as a Super Audio CD (SACD) on Tuesday, August 12th. Super Audio Compact Discs (SACD) are a new audio disc format that look like regular CDs, but have much higher storage capacity, so they can hold super high-quality audio. SACD discs use a format called Direct Sound Digital that promises much better CD audio. To take advantage of the improved sound quality with SACDs, you will need a SACD player and a Surround Sound audio system to enjoy the multichannel audio. Many SACD players also function as conventional CD and DVD-Video players, allowing you to have one player that supports all three formats.

A Second NBC Shania Special! NBC will celebrate the 10th anniversary of "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" with a 90-minute primetime special on Sept. 14, and there will be two – count ’em two – Shania Twain concert specials coming up: one on Aug, 19 and another later in the fall. Last year's must have been quite successful, huh?

Man, I Throw Like A Girl! From CountryNation.com: Shania Twain, wearing a Chicago Cubs baseball cap and jersey, was guest of honor at the Cubs/Philadelphia Phillies game in Chicago on Thursday. Twain not only played catch before the game, she threw out the first pitch (which bounced once before reaching home plate) and sang "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" during the seventh inning stretch. The Cubs should have let her bat. They lost to the Phillies 14-6. Twain is in Chicago to play a free concert on Sunday, which will take place in the city’s historic Grant Park. Shania Twain Not 'Just' a Country Singer
NEW YORK - People can label Shania Twain a country artist. Just don't stop there, says the singer-songwriter.

Although Twain says she has strong country roots, her musical influences are broad.

"It just happens that because I started so young, I developed all the way through my teens with other styles as well," Twain told reporters. "So I guess what I would say is that I'm not just a country singer but that I would say that I am a country singer."

Twain, who recently recorded Dolly Parton's "Coat of Many Colors" for an upcoming tribute album, also had a chance to record with the country music legend. "It's been one of the biggest thrills of my life," said Twain.

Twain will have a two-hour prime-time special on NBC on Aug. 19.

Shania Loves Performing For Crowds.Shania Twain says performing live is the most satisfying part of being a singer. "I love being on stage. That's my favorite thing about performing: to be in concert," the singer told AP Radio. "I'm just a lot more relaxed in concert with my fans." "I like to get as close to the audience as possible — that's what makes it fun for me," she said. "Without the audience, it's like doing a video — not all that exciting." Twain also gets a rush from writing songs — whether it's for herself or another artist. "My passion is more in songwriting more than ... in being a star," she said. "I write songs for my vocal ability, and I write songs for who I am as a person. But I also write a lot of different things I wouldn't necessarily record myself."
