It's a Race 'Tween Twain and Clark
Canadian Country Music Awards' nominations put a new contender into
the spotlignt.
Shania Twain is finally getting some competition. It
comes from two of canada's fastest-rising country music stars, judging from the nominations for this years Canadian Country Music Awards, whichwere announced yesterday (Aug 7/96).
Terri Clark came away with the most CCMA nominations for her self-titled debut, with a total of seven nods. They include single, female vocalist, SOCAN song, video, and the fan-decided entertainer of the year. In this category she'll compete directly against Twain, who got six nominations.
Clark's other nominations are for rising star and album, while Twain was nominated twice in the video category (If You're Not In It For Love) I'm Outta Here and You Win My Love .
Paul Brandth, meanwhile, tied twain for six nods for his work on Calm
Before the Storm and was nominated in the single, male vocalist, SOCAN song, album, video and rising star categories........
